Turkish Gavurdagi salad is a vibrant and flavorful dish that features fresh ingredients, a light and
fragrant dressing and heart-healthy walnuts. It’s a great way to add more color to your usual
meals, and it pairs best with your choice of a grilled protein source.
Ingredients
Salad
- 4 Roma tomatoes, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, deseeded and chopped
- 2 cucumbers, diced
- ¼ cup red onion or shallot, diced
- 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh mint, chopped
- ¼ cup pomegranate arils
- ¾ cup of walnuts, chopped
Dressing
- 1 tsp sumac
- 2 tbsp pomegranate molasses
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2-3 tbsp of lemon juice
- 1 tsp garlic, minced
- (optional) cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Chop up your fruits and vegetables, add them to a shallow serving bowl and mix together.
- In a separate bowl, prepare salad dressing and drizzle over.
- Garnish salad with chopped walnuts and pomegranate arils.
- Serve immediately.
